week 8 of SSC

this week has been a ok week for me; i admit i cheated and had a chocolate cupcake because aunt flo is coming to visit..:(..i now weigh 142.4 so at least i am still losing a little bit even with a little cheat action...lol. i drank 16 glasses of water a day and did not exceed over 1450 calories after exercise. i walked for a total of 9 miles this week and exercised on my wii fit for a total of 2 hours doing walking, jogging and then zumba. i hope everyone had a great week and i look forward to reading everyone's updates!

week 7 of SSC

this weekend was of course mother's day, so happy belated mothers day to everyone.i had a very busy weekend and there was no way for me to link up at all. i feel really bad because i really wanted to.
  well I'm going to start off by saying this week i weigh in at 144.4 so it looks like i am going in the right direction as far as weight loss; even though i had a cheat day on mothers day. my water consumption consisted of 10 glasses a day, so that is only 70 glasses this week. i could have done better. i walked for a total of 4 miles, and my calorie intake consisted of 1500 calories this week since i said i cheated..lol. i kinda of have a little dilemma; i can already fit into my bathing suit, so it looks like i have no choice but to do what every woman dreads doing.. you guessed it; i have to go SHOPPING!!! lol i hope everyone had a great week and again i am sorry Kim for not making the link up in time:(

weeek 6 of ssc

this week has been amazing. I did my 4k walk for march of dimes, had a baby shower to attend and thought i lost my phone, only to find it buried in the bottom of my purse..lol. as for water; i drank 13 glasses of water a day and did not exceed over 1400 calories after exercising. I still weigh the same even after all that walking..i was surprised about that. I know this is really short but i was trying to make the dead line to link up before i was too late..lol

week 5 of SSC

this week was not a good week for me at all, i have a cold and i cannot take anything for it due to my asthma and.I'm waiting to see my doctor. I was in the emergency room with my daughter all day today(Sunday) because she has been constipated for 2 weeks and they had to give her 2 enema's for progress to be shown. So i must say i was not please about that at all. but now my daughter is doing better but has to take medicine for a few weeks.

now away from my drama and on to the challenge. i now weight 148.6 so i think I'm down another 4 pounds. i am starting to wonder if this cold is accelerating it with me walking 7 miles this week and trying to jog up and down every staircase i see just for the fun of it.I am trying to prepare myself for the march of the babies walk may 5..i seem to be headed in the right track but i need to get this cold taken care of before I'm bed bound.I consumed 16 glasses of water a day  for 7 days so that makes it 177 glasses a week; i think that's a good thing.lol i stayed at my calorie limit of 1400 after exercising. i am hoping to keep up this trend of weight loss because it would put me at my goal before may is over:)

week 4 of SSC

hello ladies, this week would be very much considered as a roller coaster... i had good to great days then days of complete sorrow ...ireally do not like when things like this happen because i forget to eat.
 i did good all week long and had no problem with my water intake, i consumed 15 glasses of water a day; my calorie intake stayed at 1350 after exercising. i have been on a fruit and walking kick lately, i walked 5 miles on Wednesday to prepare myself for the march of the dimes walk i am doing on the 5th of may. i am so excited. i may not have raised alot of money but to be able to contribute to a great cause is enough for me.
 my current weigh is 152.6, so i am down 3 pounds since last week. i hope i can keep up myweight loss trend but i also hope everyone else had a great week:)

Week 3 of the SSC

This week has been ok for me, it is also that TOM so I kinda of caved in to my cravings,:(... I now weigh 155.6;I know it is partial bloating, and from eating my craving sweet food the dreaded doughnut. I know I am bad for giving in but I could not resist. I did however stay at no more than 1400 calories after exercise. My water intake consisted of 6 1 liters of water a day, sorry this is soo short, I also had 2 sick kids, one more sick than the other.they are doing way better now and my allergies and asthma is driving me crazy. I hope everyone had s good week because mines was not that good at all:(.

Week 2 of the SSC

It's the second week already and I'm in such a swim suit mindset that I thinking about buying another bathing suit.. Lol. This week I walked 9 miles total, drank 15 glasses of water each day, rode my stationary bike for 3 hours for a 3 day period, I also ate A LOT if different fruit and had several fruit salads. I weighed myself this morning and I was shocked that I am still 152.8.. It seems when I eat more healthy I don't lose but when I eat alot of carbs I burn them off Like water.. I do crave alot of carbs and it has seemed to help in the past. Do u think it's a good idea to eat more carbs and starch, without going crazy of course; but I hope everyone had a amazing week and I guess I'm proud to say I may not have lost but a still maintained:)

Week 1 of the SSC challenge

This week has been really busy for me, I walked a total of 7 miles this week, drank 10 glasses of water today and jogged for a half n hour at work for my lunch break for 2 days. I got on the scale this morning and nearly collapsed.. I now weigh 152.8. I tried 3 different scales to make sure they all said the same thing, lol. So that puts me down 4.2 pounds from last week. I also had to think about everything I actually did last week, I had that TOM which accounted for bloating, I caught a stomach virus which would not allow me to keep anything down( sorry for TMI) I really worked my butt off in exercising; and I chose to walk places instead of driving. If I had to go to the supermarket, I would park in the back of the parking lot just for the exercise. My calorie intake did not exceed 1400( after exercising that is).. I hope I can keep up this trend of weight lost because I hung my bathing suit in my bathroom so I can look at it everyday as motivation:). I hope everyone had a great week as I did!

first post of the SSC

 hello everyone, my name is Octavia but i rather go by Tay.i am 24 years old with 2 kids, i love my children with everything in my being.i am not only doing this for myself but for them as well. this is my third weight loss challenge and i am proud of the results i have received from the support i get from my fellow weight loss sisters' to me sometimes its good to hear " great job" when you think your in a slump or even when you hit a weight loss plateau. i promise to try to send motivation to everyone in this challenge and i know we all will shine in the end.

bathing suit:
I am so excited to start this challenge this will really help me get into my dream bathing suit that i bought last year but never wore. i am currently a size 12 in clothes but i want to be a comfortable 8-10. the bathing suit i picked out is a size 10. (as you can see in the picture above). i am not attempting to have a perfect bathing suit body but a nice looking one will be my goal, i don't want to look lumpy or like a sausage squeezing into it.

 current weight: my current weight for this challenge is 157. i want to lose 20 pounds which would put me in the 130's. this challenge ends right before my birthday so this will be the perfect birthday gift to be 50 pounds lighter and turning 25.

exercise: i plan on on walking up to 4-5 miles a week and riding my stationary bike for 20-25 minutes for 2-4 days a week. My water consumption will consist of 5-9 glasses a day. i do not plan on weighing myself every week i plan on weighing myself every other week so i can achieve a better result; but that's only if it is  ok with Ms Kim.:)

now lets start this week off with a bang and kick some weight loss butt, we are going to be super sexy females in our bathing suit this year!!!

Last week of FDOS challenge

This week is a sad one for me beacause this is the last post for this challenge.I am happy to report I am down 3.8 pounds from last week, the bloating is over and I guess with me walking 4 miles This week helped. I would like to say I now weigh 156.0...my water intake consisted of 10 glasses of water a day. My calorie intake consisted of 1400 calories after working out.I'm hoping everyone had a amazing week and I hope we all keep in touch.

Week 10 of FDOS chalkenge

Wow I just realized today that this is week 10 of the challenge.. I did not weight myself this week so I will say I'm still 159.4; my week has been a roller coaster of food, I craved sweets because of that TOM, no matter how I resisted I had to have them, so I resorted to a bag of sugar free gummy worms. My water intake consisted of 6 cups a day. They could have been more I really didn't feel like drinking water that much I wanted tea and lemonade.. Lol I really so not like the TOM because this is how I get. My calorie intake this week was 1560 all week. I'm sorry to report that it seems like I relasped on my diet. I plan on putting OT this week and because the weather is suppose to be nice that means walking, walking, and more walking :) along with enjoying my wii fit with the kids:).. I am no I will get back on track and I will succeed. Sorry if my update is a negative one I will try next week to have a better result and a weigh-in. I hope everyone else had a great week, 2 more weeks guys!!! We can do it!

Week 9 of FDOS challenge

This week was fun, I hung out with great friends, I did not workout as much as I wanted to. My weight is now 159.4.. I'm up 3.6 pounds thanks to mother nature.. Lol next week I plan on putting in overtime weather permitted that is. My calorie intake did exceed 1300 for a few days but nothing past 1500. My water consumption consisted of 7 glasses a day. It was also hard for me to really walk as much as I usually do thanks to my rheumatoid arthritis flaring up in the worst way. I'm only 24 but I won't let it get me down. I hope everyone had a great week and lose, Lose, lose!

Week 8 of the FDOS challenge

This was an average week for me.. I walked for a total of 2 miles and cleaned like crazy.. Nice weather makes me do that.. Lol I weighed myself this morning and I am proud to say I am now 155.8; so I am down 1.8 pounds from last week. I did not consume as much water as I should have this week I only did about 5 glasses for 4 days. My calorie intake only exceeded 1300 calories 1 day this week. Which is not bad it was 1456 on Tuesday due to me having a few glasses of wine and mascato:)...my family is feeling a lot better and they are acting like they never got sick in the first place. That makes me really happy for them to spring back like that.I am sorry I haven't posted on anyone's pages the only time I have to do that is at work and I have been very busy the past few weeks. I will make/ find time this week to catch up from weeks past. I do not feel as though I put 100% in this challenge because of that. So expect a lot of responses in the next few days everyone!.. Lol I hope everyone had a great week:)

Week 7 of FDOS challenge

This has been a great week:)... I now weigh 157.6; at the rate I'm going I will reach my goal by the end if the challenge, I hope so. My calorie intake did not exceed 1300 calories and my water intake consisted of 9 glasses of water a day. I did a total of 3.7 miles of walking this week. I did catch a stomach virus from my kids this week so I know that helped to contribute to my weight loss.. Lol I hope everyone had a great week:)

Week 6 of FDOS challenge

This week has been a bust.. Both of my children have a stomach virus and I have not had any time to really workout due to appointments and errands. I have been tending to them for the most part; As for my weight I weigh 159 now so that is 4oz down from last week. I wish it could be more but any loss is great to me.I plan on making it up this week, I want to hit 157 if possible:)..sorry for this being so short but I plan on updating during the week.. Week 5 of FDOS challenge

This week went by very quickly.. I cannot believe we are in week 5 already.I have had a amazing week.. I did not get to ride my stationary bike but I did walkfor 4.35 miles this week.the weather was nice so I took advantage of it with exercising. My weight this week is.., your ready.. I hope so.. Lol 158.4;so that is 2 pounds down from last week. My calorie intake did not exceed 1300 as usual.and that's even with my family eating out more than normal. No matter what they ate I stayed on my diet mindset and so far it is paying off.. I am really proud of myself even though I was tempted. I did on the other hand forget to drink 8 glassesof water a day, I did drink 5-6 glasses though. This week I will consume 8 glasses no matter what. Staying hydrated Is very important when working out and losing weight. I hope everyone had a great week as I have, I can not wait to read the results of everyone's week. Be blessed ladies:)

Week 4 of the FDOS challenge

So this week has been very active.. I walked for 2.3 miles Monday-thursday, worked out on the wii fit for a total of a hour and a half on Friday and I rode my stationary bike for a total of 2 hours on Tuesday and thursday. I drank 10 eight ounce glasses of water all week. So that would make it 70 glasses.. Wow!..At the end of the week i ended up gaining a pound. So I now weigh 160.4. I have been 160 for a few weeks now so when the scale finally said 159 last week i was jumping for joy. This week is really a reality check that i need to push myself harder to achieve my goal. Some people are saying i look fine, I want to look great! now that i have been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis in both my wrists and knees its harder to workout without cringing of pain.I am hoping the weight I gained is just water weight and bloating because that TOM Is coming. I maintained a calorie intake of 1300, my breakfast would consist of a thin bagel and a light and fit yogurt. My lunch and dinner would be a salad and a piece of fruit with a turkey and cheese sandwich on wheat bread. I would say this week has been great despite the minor gain. Im Looking forward to a 2 or more pound loss next week..* fingers crossed*

Week 3 of FDOS challenge

I had a ok week, I did not get to work out on my stationary bike for too long;I only got to once this week for 15 minutes.. I have on the other hand been walking for 2 or more hours a day. I have not exceed my 1300 calorie intake; I have been drinking 5-8 glasses of water a day. I know I didn't weigh in last week and I did for a good reason:).. I started off the challenge with 164, I now weigh 159.4... So I'm happy with the results. That is a lost of 4.6 pounds in 2 weeks. I know if I applied myself more with working out it will be a bigger outcome but I think that's a great start.I hope everyone had a great week, I am unable to post my spring outfit right now since I'm not near a computer and I cannot post them on my phone.. So during the week I'll add it for you:)

FDOS week 2

This week has been great.. I have walked for 2 in a half hours for 4 days, I rode the stationary bike for 20 minutes for 2 days and I drank 5-7 glasses of water daily. I could not resist my herbal tea so I had about 3-5 cups of them. If you were wondering the name of the brand of tea I drink it's bigelow tea. They are caffeine free and zero calories; it's a win-win situation.:) I made alot of healthy choices this week; for example instead of eating a krimpet I ate a apple or some yogurt. I have to fight for my yogurt because my kids love it also. I ate salads for lunch and for breakfast I had a yogurt with slice of toasted wheat bread. I did not exceed 1300 calories. I have chose not to weigh myself this week because I want a big loss next week so I'm going to say I'm still 164.. I sorry this is short but it's straight to the point. I hope everyone had a great week, I can't wait to read your results:)

FDOS 1ST WEEKLY UPDATE

hello all my name is Octavia but i would rather be called tay. this is the second weight loss challenge i have ever been in so starting off here is a little about me. i am a mother of 2 beautiful kids. a boy and a girl they are 3 and 19 months. i used to be 190 pounds the biggest i have ever been was 202 pounds so i am proud to say i am starting this challenge at 164.In this challenge i plan on losing 20 pounds. that would put me around the 140's. I ultimately want to reach 135 before my birthday in June.
EXERCISE::
  • ZUMBA ON THE WII FOR 20 MINUTES ONCE A WEEK
  • WALKING FOR 40-60 MINUTES EVERYDAY (WEATHER PERMITTED)
  • RIDING MY STATIONARY BIKE FOR 20MINUTES TWICE A WEEK
WAY TO LOSE WEIGHT::
  • CALORIE COUNTING AT 1300 A DAY
FLUIDS::
  • DRINKING PLENTY OF WATER 8-10 GLASSES A DAY
